RESPONSIBILITY CENTERED DISCIPLINE (RCD)
The RCD system is established to help all students achieve self-discipline. It is therefore expected that rules shall be clear and resolution to problems needs to be immediate. Student issues will be dealt with on an individual basis and consequences will be based on the severity of the offense. In school management, the first line of discipline is the classroom teacher. The systematic approach to less-than-crisis situations will be documented as follows:
- School/ Classroom Expectations will be posted and reviewed at the beginning of the year.
- A teacher/student conference will be held.
- Parent or guardian contact is made.
- School Counselor is involved. (Optional)
- Student is referred to the Administration.
Once a student is referred to the office the following Chart will be used to guide administrative decision making:

The RCD system incorporates RCD marks as a way to track the severity and pervasiveness of student behavior problems. In addition, students may reduce RCD Marks by learning pro-social behaviors, completing problem solving exercises, providing school and community service and assisting with a clean and orderly school. A typical progression for student behavior is as follows:
- 1st offense Student Conference
- 2nd offense Lunch and Learn assignment (parent notification)
- 3rd offense ISP Room Assignment (parent conference)
- 4th offense Classroom closed to student pending conference between parent, student, teacher and administrator.
